Alternatively you may try to model a single connector with equivalent force displacement relationship for the two connectors.
Set this parameter equal to the name of a section controls definition (see "Section controls " Section 21.1.4 of the ABAQUS Analysis User s Manual) to be used for the connector elements. Section controls can be used to specify whether the connector elements should be deleted once they fail completely.

Click Add on the right side of the editor to display a list of available behaviors. Select the behaviors needed to define your connector section. You can define multiple behaviors of the same type for some behaviors. When you select a behavior its name appears in the Behavior Options list and data fields associated with the behavior appear in the data area in the bottom half of the editor.
2018-3-14 · In Abaqus in the Connector Sections one can specify the friction coefficient and also it can depend on the field variables. Although I use the USDFLD subroutine to define fields no influence happened on the frictions during analysis. My opinion is that the USDFLD is not called during analysis for the connector elements.
2016-9-21 · The connector section editor allows you to add the connector behaviors available in Abaqus/Standard and Abaqus/Explicit. When you click Add on the Behavior Options tabbed page a list of behaviors appears. After you select a behavior the name of the behavior appears in the Behavior Options list at the top of the editor and the behavior becomes part of your connector section
2012-2-5 · The connector section editor allows you to specify assembled complex or basic connection types connector behaviors and section data to include in the section definition. For more information see " Connector elements " Section 31.1.2 of the Abaqus Analysis User s Manual.

Note ABAQUS/CAE writes complete connector section data to the input file only when a connector section has a connector section assignment in the model database. If you plan to import a model from an input file and obtain connector sections you must make sure that all of the connector sections have assignments in the model database.
On the Section tabbed page select a connector section. If desired click Create to create a new connector section. The connection type is displayed in the editor you can click Show to see a schematic drawing of the connection type along with the ABAQUS idealization of the connection.

2016-9-21 · Connector elements in Abaqus allow most physical connections to be modeled with a single connector element. However in certain circumstances more complex connections or output considerations may require multiple connector elements to be used in parallel. This is accomplished by defining two or more connector elements between the same nodes.

2016-9-21 · Section controls can be used to specify whether the connector elements should be deleted once they fail completely. If this parameter is omitted the failed elements will not be deleted. Section controls can also be used to specify a maximum value of the scalar degradation (damage) parameter D max and to specify the viscosity coefficient μ for viscous damping or regularization.
